THE DECLUTTEROLOGY PROCESS

Step 1: Free 30-minute discovery call or zoom/Skype/WhatsApp call to discuss your needs and your frustrations.

  1. Have a few photos ready that you can share on screen to give me an idea of the clutter in your home, workshop, wardrobe etc.
  2. Please make me aware of your pronoun. Please feel free to make me aware of anything that you think will help us with the process of decluttering and changing your life for the better by achieving your end goal.
  3. I will identify if the declutter will be best as a 'room by room' approach or 'by category approach e.g. books, clothes, miscellaneous, sentimental.
  4. After or during our call you can book in a decluttering session or several sessions and make an advance payment of 50% to secure your booking.
  5. I will give you my phone number during the consultation so that you can either phone or text to book an appointment or carry on communications by email.

Step 2: Book a date in the diary for your first session

  1. We will go through a checklist of goals to achieve during the appointment.
  2. I will look to see what we need to work on together and areas I can concentrate on by myself, e.g. putting things into categories ready for you to make decisions on ‘bring you joy or discard’.
  3. Finally, if we are working through the ‘Category’ approach to decluttering what you will need to work on by yourself whilst I am on site or as ‘homework’. Setting you tasks for when I am off site will help you to budget for my professional services.
  4. You can book by phone, text or email - request a booking form to complete if you haven't done this during the consultation meeting. [email protected]

Step 3: Start the declutter

Smiling and having some fun carrying out the declutter is important. Stopping at times if things start to feel overwhelming.

  1. Tell a story or two about belongings that you want to keep or discard. Taking stock at different stages to see what you have achieved.
  2. I create an action checklist.
  3. When you decide to discard something, we can make a note of what you have decided to do with it, add it to the check list. If I suggest an idea of how something can be organised after the declutter, I will put this on the check list so that you don’t need to worry about forgetting or feel anxious or overwhelmed.
  4. Take breaks when you need to. If it is an entire day of decluttering we will arrange a suitable time for me to take a break and step away to give you some head space.

Step 4: Ongoing support

  1. At the end of the process we might agree that I leave you with tasks to complete, this may be due to your budget.
  2. I can quote a price for follow up calls and emails to see what progress you have made and to keep you motivated and hold you accountable. This could be support once a week for a month.
  3. After this you could book in for a consultation online at £30 for 1 hour.
  4. You may consider 'no set homework tasks' but instead to continue with me onsite on a regular basis until you have met your final goals for decluttering and organising your home.
